History
The club has formed in 1931, renting the bowling facility from the Cullompton Hotel (now demolished). Originally only businessmen of the town were invited to join, and games were played on Thursday (early closing) and Saturday afternoons.
The green was laid with Cumberland turf and recognised as one of the best in the county, as it is today and as such has hosted many representative games.
In 1986 the club purchased the green and clubhouse and began a series of staged improvements of the clubhouse and car park. Most recently, portakabin changing rooms were replaced by purpose built changing rooms in 2006, in time to mark the 75th anniversary of the club. Finally, in 2008, the clubhouse was extensively modernised and extended to provide excellent facilities, including; new kitchen, extended bar and lounge, full toilet facilities, and a skittle alley. Now with the installation of central heating the clubhouse is used for social events all the year round, including skittles in the winter months
